Mercury Mercruiser Anode Prop Nut-Magnesium 97-809666T (Saltwater - Zinc, Brackish - Aluminium, Freshwater - Magnesium)
Propeller anodes are a type of sacrificial anode specifically designed to protect the propellers of vessels from corrosion. The anodes are typically made of a more active metal such as zinc, aluminium or magnesium, which will corrode before the more passive metal (e.g. bronze or stainless steel) of the propeller.
The propeller nut anode should have an anti slip material inside, so even if they get a bit loose they never go out of the screw.
Prop Nut Compatibility: 1-1/16" Nut (the standard size nut for 1", 1-1/8", and spline shafts)
