RNLI Lifejacket Clinic: 14th June

Would your lifejacket save your life? On 14th June, drop in to the RNLI lifejacket clinic hosted by Lindon Lewis Marine for advice on the condition of your lifejacket, CO2 cylinder and cartridge. It's free to attend, and the inspection is free too.

If you haven't got a lifejacket and you spend time on or near the water, now is the time to get one! Almost half of accidental drownings happen to people who didn’t intend to enter the water.

We welcome members and committee members from sailing clubs, rowing clubs, sea scouts and watersports organisations to come along too. No need to book.

Pet Buoyancy Aids

Pets living/walking by waterways are at risk of slipping in or getting into difficulty, even if they can paddle. We have various size buoyancy aids to fit your dog or cat and will be pleased to advise you on the best one.

Not all lifejackets are up to scratch

Unfortunately, cheaper lifejackets (often bought online) can seriously compromise your safety. The Office for Product Safety and Standards lists product recalls, which is worth checking if you have bought a lifejacket (or similar) recently. A product advertised as a lifejacket may in fact be a buoyancy aid, which does not provide the same level of protection. Know the difference - read more in our blog.
